why am i rubbing?
 

Hi guys. So i have rims with 7.5' offset +48 front with 215s and 8.5' offset +55 rear with 235s. The fronts arent rubbing at all but on the rears, i get slight rub when making high speed turns or going over dips at a moderate speed. I am lowered to one finger gap all round with tein flex coilovers. According to the sticky, shouldn't I not be rubbing? thanx for the input

what are you rubbing on? bumper tab?

i rubbed with 18x9 +65..... but with a 265 tire.... I would add some camber if I were you

relocate the bumper tab and roll the fender. should go away then. i am not a fan of adding camber to alleviate rubbing. you should only add camber if you need it at the track. IMHO.

I'm guessing you're on 235/45-17s, which are taller than stock.
You might actually be better off on 245/40s than on 235/45s.

Regarding camber, 2* - 2.5* I consider to be streetable enough, particularly if you don't run a lot of toe.

The sticky is for stock height and is just a guideline. There are a lot of variables in play. Do you have the correct tire diameter? I'd try bending the bumper tab slightly back, you probably don't need much work. If you are running stock alignment then go to UK spec, around -2 camber rear.

Personally I had 2.5 degrees and zero toe with the 265... If you do have 235/45 you should get those switched out and that should fix the problem like ZDan said

:iagree: I would try -1 front camber and -2 rear camber, or UK camber specs. Very streetable. Also ZDan is right, you have the wrong size tire. Try the 245/40 like he suggested.

rolled rear fenders/relocated rear bumper tab/dropped at least an inch on coilovers/STOCK ALIGNMENT SPECS 0F/-1R camber

NO RUBBING even with my 190 lb fat ass and my buddies 245lb fat ass in the car at the same time.

SOOOOOOOO.......do what you want, but with s2k friendly offsets/s2k friendly size tires, i dont see at all why you shluld run UK SPEC'd camber.

UK SPEC'd camber ate my advan ao48s prematurely :( blah to that...unless you track your car, then by all means add camber.


for u, stock ap2 size tires, maybe go stock CR size in the rear, roll the rear fender, relocate that rear bumper tab<it sounds worse then it is, its friggin easy> and you should be fine.

i 100% feel u are rubbing on the rear bumper tab. i bet its even bent up slightly from all the rubbing.

I have BFG NT's 215/255, +50 and +55, -1 & -2 camber. I have 7000 miles NO uneven wear. Sorry it ate your advans, but it has been working great for me.

I totally agree with going with high offsets. +50, and +55 work great on stock fenders.
