Default Widest Tire on an S2000

The widest rear tires that I've seen on an S is 255. What is the widest tire or tire/wheel setup that the S is capable of without rubbing or modification of the fender. Besides from rolling the fenders? Is 275 or 285 even possible?

Depends on wheel size and offsets.

I really like the volk Ce28. I'd go with the max width and offset that the s can accomodate.

The widest tires are dependent on the wheels you have. Let me know the width and offsets and I can make a recommendation.

The thing is that right now I have OEM wheels that I know will accomodate 255's. I don't mind getting aftermarket wheels. My question is how wide can I go in the rear? 17x9, 17x10, 17x11? I want to be able to fit the widest tire in the rear without rubbing.

For autocross, I have SSR GT7 wheels, which are stock legal (meaning that they are the same widths, and almost the same offsets as stock AP2 wheels). I have 275/40-17 on the rear wheels, and 245/45-17 on the front wheels, with no rubbing. I have stock suspension, a Gendron front sway bar, and have not rolled my fenders.

The largest tires that I have seen on a S2000 was at an auto x event. He was running 285 all the way around and his car was insanely fast.

The widest I've seen are 275F and 305R... check it out:

Doesn't look like he has any body mods other than "rolled and beaten" fenders... Body looks fairly stock...as you can see in the pics he has

Btw you have to scroll down just a little to see who I'm referring to
