17" Square Winter Set Up
I'm looking to install a squared set up 17 x 7.5" +40 wheels with a set of same sized Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 tires, for winter driving. Which of the following tire sizes would be recommended for this set up?

As narrow as possible |
:iagree:
You want more ground pressure (pounds per square inch) and narrower tires do this. Expect very squirmy driving with the soft deep tread and narrow profile. Just curious where and why you're driving a S2000 in deep snow. -- Chuck |
The 215 are kind of small in diameter which you probably don't want during the winter (less ground clearance) and might be close with fender clearance as well.
I would probably go with 205/50R17 instead. Like Chuck said, handling on dry and clean road is going to be pretty bad :) |
Some questions and comments:
- I have 2 S2000's and one is a daily driver. - This isn't the first time I've had Blizzak's on a S2000. I had a set on the OEM AP1 wheels, back in 2003. No issues in dry or wet weather. - I live in Milwaukee, WI and roads are salted and plowed around here regularly. - I'm leaning towards the 225/45 17 tire. This will give me a wider tire width, for dry or wet conditions and not give me that stretched tire look. - Hardrace front and rear adjustable sway bars will be on the vehicle. |
I would go with the 215/45R17 for the winter. I do have the tires in stock. If I can help let me know.
