17x8 Squared?
 
Hello! I'm looking to possibly run 17x8 all around on my non-tracked AP1. I am lowered 1.2 inches on Swift SPEC-R springs on stock struts.
What kind of offset's and tire widths am I looking at to be able to get a good fitment without having to roll fenders?

From what I've gathered, a good starting point is.

17x8 +45 // 225/45/17

Any thoughts? Pictures are encouraged!

Front would need a roll. Its not really an ideal setup. Running OEM ap2 wheels would be a better setup and wouldn't require fender work.

What would be a solid setup for a slightly lowered car? I want good fitment, but I also dont want to roll the fenders if I dont have to. The car has such low miles, I want to preserve it as long as I can.

I would like it to be as flush as possible, but not have to stretch tires to be completely flush. Too much wheel gap bothers me.

You really have 2 choices here. Unrolled fenders require near OEM offsets and widths. So run OEM AP2 wheels (whichever style you like best they all have the same specs) or run an aftermarket wheel like the Enkei PF01 that comes in high offsets. Once you hit the +45 area it needs a roll especially when lowered. You can't have flush fitment and untouched fenders unless you want it to rub and possibly damage your fenders. This is why the OEM ap2 wheels are a good choice since you can put them on and leave the fenders alone but you get the updated look of the 17 inch wheel and wider tire choices. The OEM ap2 wheels are also a good bench mark to use for sizing as if you stay really close to their specs you will have less fitment issues.

What size tires can I get away with on AP2 V1 wheels? 40 or 45?
I'm looking at some TOYO Proxy R888's

Was thinking -
225 Fronts // OEM is 215
255 Rears // OEM is 245

Looking for a little more meaty track look,

Yes those will work. The CR came with 255's on the rear as stock. Correct sizes are 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rears.

you put 2 different tread wall heights on them?

:banghead: The number of people that don't understand tire sizing is shocking. The 2nd number IE 40 or 45 is a percentage not a fixed measurement. Read below and read the sticky that has all the OEM tire sizes.

S2k spec volk ce28 or s2k spec mugen mf10/gp wheels also fit the bill.

as far as looks wouldn’t a 17x8 squared set up look better on an ap1 than the stock since the wheels would be bigger? As long as drivability isn’t effected too much of course. I’m also interested in this topic because there’s a steal of a deal in my area and I want to jump on it but not without some input. Does anybody have pictures of 17x8 squared?
