I run 235/40-17 up front and the VSA works just fine for normal driving but I do shut it off when out having fun(did this with the stock size tires to). Like you posted you will need T/C or your tires will just go up in smoke in the lower gears.

For me it wasn't the wmd but the aluminum tubes that really made me nervous.
