949 6UL Staggered Setup
I am on the hunt for new wheels for my 2001. Car is 100% stock and is a weekend driver, with zero track use.
I was interested in a set PF01's but then I saw the 6UL's. I don't want do any fender work, and at most may lower the car on springs for a very slight drop. Based on the wheel fitment guide I think I should be good, but I noticed the 6UL's have a slightly lower offset than the PF01's. Since most people seem to recommend them as the default wheel to go to for zero fender work. With all that being said does this combo sound workable? 17x8 +48 225/45/17 17x9 +55 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 Thanks for the input. |
Yes, that size combo works great. That was a popular staggered size common with SSR wheels before they chose to abandon the s2000 community. i ran 17x8 +48 with 225/45/17 and 17x9+55 with 255/40/17 for years- Autox, track events, trips to Deals Gap, and daily duty- all without issue and zero fender work. |
Did the wheels stick out at all? I’m trying to avoid that for sure. |

I concur, good fitment for these wheel spec and tire widths.
