But in all seriousness, I mostly found only a handful of for-sale posts dating to 2008-2010, and they typically went for $1000-1500.

7+ years later and I don't see them come up for sale very often anymore, and a lot of the 16" AP1 folks have moved on up to 17" due to the better selection of rubber.

So in your opinion, assuming I can find these, how much do you think they're worth now? More? Less?

The last sets I've seen of them were around the $1,000 mark. I got mine for $450 Canadian plus $100 shipping from a guy who must not have known what they were, as he was pretty much selling them as regular USDM Ap1 rims from what I can gather. Most of the sets I've seen were marked up and needed painting, they were popular among the auto-x owners. I had to paint mine mainly because I am very picky about the condition of wheel paint, and I wanted to change up the colour. I've thought about moving up to Volk TE-37's and selling my BBS JDM Ap1 rims, but I would end up spending quite a bit more money for similar weight rims, with the only benefit being a wider rim.

They are forged rims, and they are BBS rims, very lightweight, but most people don't like the narrow sizing or the 16 inch diameter. I love my rims, but I wouldn't pay a huge amount of money for them, particularly if they need painting. I haven't seen any for sale for the last year on this site, but they may be available elsewhere ?

^ oh yeah I seen my silver rims posted in that thread. I've actually got them painted a blue hue now, the silvers were very clean, but I got bit by the blue bug trying to emulate my favourite Volk Mag blue colour. I've gone through a couple colours on these rims, this is what they look like now.

Hmotorsonline has sold a 2-3 sets in the past year or so for $599 + shipping. a local picked up a set couple months ago, and they came in, in good condidtion. $1k is on the very high side.

If I didnt already have all 17" wheels in my stockpile, I would love to pick up a set, have always been fond of the design.

Steve at Hmotors has been selling his cheap, I've also been keeping an eye on them. Other than Steve I have seen sets priced at $750 - $1300 I am not sure what they actually sold for though.
