AP1vs CR Wheel Weight
Hey guys,
I just changed out the stock AP1 wheels on my '01. I put on OEM CR wheels. Some of the reviews that I read before purchasing my wheels was that cars felt slower after the swap to the heavier wheels. I was concerned about this so I weighed the AP1 wheels with stock size tires mounted when I took them off and compared them to the CR wheels with stock size tire's mounteds. The weights were exactly the same on the front wheels and less than 1/2 lb difference on the back wheels. Also, the circumference of each was the same (so there's no effective gear ratio change).
The upside to this swap is that my car looks better (my opinion) and has wider rubber under it (215's in the front, 255's in the rear).
And no, it doesn't feel slower.
