Default Best Wheels and tires for Track Use

Hi folks,
I was looking to know what is the best wheels and tires for track use only on my s2k. With these wheels, it will be Track Use only. I want the best setup possible. What do you recommend me?
I read about those: 949 Racing 6ULR 17x9 +63 with 255 square but on 949 racing website there is no +63 offset only +48.... what you guys recommend me.

Thanks!

Do you have a budget in mind? Do you want to keep the fenders stock? There is other 17x9 +63 wheels out there from TSW, Enkei, volk, advan etc. This isn't exactly a one size fits all sort of thing. The way the car is setup is important in suggesting the right wheel and tire setup.

Best bang for buck street tire is either the rs3/4 or the Nexan nfera

Best bang for buck track wheel is the infamous RPF1.

You can get wheels and tires for under 1600$ If u go with the above. Btw the rs3 last forever

I'm running trm c4 17x9 +48 squares with 245/40 Michelin pilot sports. That's lowered about 1.5-2" inches with fenders rolled and rear tab relocated.

Here's the fender rolling DIY: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/wheels-t...s-etc-1026881/

I recommend you use someone who has done this before as you can easily crack the paint and damage your fenders if you don't know what you are doing.

As far as wheels and tires, that is a very subjective answer... really depends what you like. If you want the ultimate grip at the track, then Hoosiers are unbeatable... just keep in mind they are not to be used outside of the track, so you'll have to transport them and change at the track. If you want the ultimate in street legal performance, the RE71R is the best tire you can get, but they tend to wear fast... so keep this in mind. For wheels I am running the Forgestar F14's, they are fairly light and due to their custom construction, you can choose just about any size and offset you want. For dedicated track use I would recommend 17x10 wheels with high offset (+55 or better) and 255/40/R17 square setup.

Here are some good threads to read up on different track wheel setups:

Re17r are really good but not the best. The advan tire sticks a lot more and the r888. But for the money re71r are great and the rs3/4 are good. But the rs3 will last forever. U can do with a 17x9-10 option but the wider the wheel the higher the offset u need. 255/40 isquare a lot of grip. ALOT.

You set faster lap times on a R888 over a RE71R? That doesn't sound right. Also, please tell us more about how good the RS4 tires are.
