Biggest tires on AP2 with stock 17' rims ?

2011? Jesus.
Yeah tire height should be a consideration. Changing the "rake" of the car will effect how it handles. Alternatively there is a shorter 235/40 out there which I think Z2 comes in if memory serves. Its not a common size so your depended on what tire brand you are wanting to go with. But you will get quicker turn in with this shorter tire, which can be desired. The rear will rotate easier. Otherwise stick to the common better balanced 225/45 as RedCelica recommended.

A lot of people complain about not getting enough rotation ability with the ap2, couple that with the lower speed and foot on the gas through the turn nature of auto x driving which makes the car want to plow, and you might appreciate the 235/40 up front.

Here are my options if I go 225/45 in the front it will be Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R rated as extreme performance summer tire, which is a proven tire. Now if I go 235/40 in the front it will be Toyo Proxes R888R a racetrack and autocross specific tire. Price wise the Toyo is least expensive by close to $50. This is the problem with staggered set-up they will indeed plow at a certain point because the contact patch is not the same. Has anyone tried a square setup with the OEM wheels? say a 235/40 all around? Thanks

Some guys will run oem rears all around and go non staggered tires that way. You can either hone out the hub to accomplish this, or just run a 5mm spacer to clear the bigger hub all together. Ive seen both run successfully.

I would pick tire make/model first and then size, and I wouldn't run square tires on OEM AP2 wheels, I'd run one of the usual options (stock AP2 sizes, stock CR sizes, or 225/45-17 rear with 255/40-17 rear)

I have a question based on availability of tires on Guam, They have a 225/45r17 and a 245/40r17 and a 255/45r17 what do you think I should go for in the rear? If I buy it locally I will save $300. Need help thanks

Not sure if a typo, but if not you do not want the 255/45. Its too large an overall diameter. If no 255/40 then do the 245/40.

Did my first autocross in the tires that came with the car finished 2nd against people running tires with a tread wear rating of 200 or less and mine had 540.
