Exclamation Bridgestone Potenza S007A extreme performance tire coming soon

Was about to order a set of RE-11s from Jim today for my AP1 stock wheels, but it has been discontinued and they no longer carry the 205mm sizes.

He mentioned a replacement is coming along around June called the S007A which is supposedly an improvement/update for the RE-11, yet will sit below the RE-71R.

Available in the obscure/rare Ap1 size too? Ap1 sizes is uncommon for new/modern tires.

35 tires at Tire Rack come in AP1 sizes. The best Extreme Performance tires almost always come in AP1 sizes...

This is incorrect. Plenty of great tires of all types are available in ap1 sizes.

Looking only at Extreme and Max performance summer tires Tire Rack shows 11 tires for the 16" wheels and 15 for the 17 so it's hard to say there's a real disadvantage in the earlier car's tires. Lots of choices.

I was very happy with the RE11A (extreme) tires on my 2006 as I am with my current S04 (max) tires. Be interesting how/if the S007A tires are suitable for the street and how they compare. I stayed away from the RE71R tires due to reported road noise. The Dunlap Z2-Star Spec tires I had drowned out even the exhaust noise. And I prefer an asymmetric tread pattern anyway.

Hmm.. I don't think this new tire will be offered in that many sizes. The original s007 was only available from 18 to 20 inch sizes and is the OE tire for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. If it comes in S2k sizes, great but don't hold your breath.

So we had a meeting with Bridgestone and the S007A is going to fit in between the RE71R and the S04 Pole Position in performance. They are a replacement for the RE11 is what they are telling us. The S04 will not go away at this time and the RE71R will stay as well. They are listing the S007A in the OE AP1 sizes but I do not have any confirmed dates yet.but should be around the first of May.
If I can help let me know.

It would not upset me if they made the S04 in oe ap1 sizes as well. Its not likely I will move to extreme performance tires for my use which is all on the street.

Cool! A good candidate for HPDE tire hopefully! Run RE003s on the street wheel set.
