Not sure if you can still get the original Rivals, but they should be pretty cheap. They have been a great HPDE/driver tire and cost around $500 for the set (oem ap2).

I bought my car with Nankang Noble Sport tires (NS-20 I think) on it. Well, it's not bad but seriously speaking:
(1) You can't drive happily in rain. The car could easily spin out in a way that you couldn't imagine. No grip in wet conditions at all, even with good tread.
(2) If it's dry, well you can drive it hard, but just to some extent. Go VTEC and push it to its limit and you would feel like you could lose control anytime. No good, and even if you are experienced, instability would bug you too.

So, as for me, even if I am on a budget, I would go and try other tires.
