Three months in and approx 1200 miles on the Conti's and things are going really well. I've driven these HARD and they show very little wear to date. They grip like the dickens (as my Grandpop would say), but retain the comfort of a good touring tire. Highway ride is great - quiet and comfortable - and on/off ramps are a smile-inducing experience to say the least. Hard to say at this point how many miles I expect to get out of these - will wait until I have 3-4K on them before starting to estimate total usable lifespan. Hoping to get up to Pocono in August or Sept for one of the SCCA track days to really push them hard. Will report back in another month or two. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

I have 750 miles on mine (225/255) and love them. Running 33 PSI cold all around. Grip improved in the 300-500 mile range once broken in.

Much quieter and softer than the OEM RE050 on the car originally but not so soft you lose feel. Very smooth ride with excellent dry grip and braking performance. Have not tried them in the rain.

My only complaint so far is they tramline on grooved concrete, not as bad as I've encountered on other tires/cars, but it is there. Somewhat disappointing as most of the highways up here have the grooved concrete

Good good! My Michelin PS2s got stolen, and I've just replaced them with the Conti ECS. They haven't gotten farther than the driveway yet, so I appreciate the advance info. I'm looking forward to breaking them in!

I bought them a couple weeks ago from Tire Rack. Any idea whether I can get the rebate retroactively?

I have to do something pretty soon. I've been hemming and hawing about whether to mount a set of used but newly refinished Volk ce28 wheels or my current ap2 v3 wheels and also what max performance tires to use. Currently I use S-04 tires and I like them. I am 100% street use - a lot of country back road driving. Some, not much, highway.

I notice that the new Conti's and the MPSS tires in stock size have a slightly narrower rear treadwidth when compared to the S-04s. Also, they are both quite a bit lighter than that S-04s. The Volks are a tiny bit wider (7.5 and 9.0) than stock wheels (7.0 and 8.5) with corresponding offset adjustment - (+50 and +63 Vs. +55 and +65) and so I wonder if the S-04s would fit best and whether the MPSS and Conti tires might look stretched on these Volk wheels. My guess is it doesn't amount to a hill of beans difference - you all agree?

These contis might be in my future either way. I might end up selling these Volk wheels before mounting them. They might bring a better price and quicker sale if I sell them before mounting. They are close to mint now. I just don't know if I really want/need to use something other than the very nice stock ap2 wheels I have.

RPG, I would mount the new 225/255 contis on those volks or stick with S-04.

With the S04s I get roughly twice as many miles on the fronts as the rears. Should I expect the same with the new Conti's? If so, I may buy two sets of rears and one set of fronts right off the bat to hedge against the possibility they might not be available later when the rears need replacing.

The Conti Extremecontact sports are new so my guess is that they will be around for quite awhile. I would expect them to wear significantly more on the rear like every tire seems to on this car but buying another rear pair is probably not worth it.

Normal wear for the S2K is 2 rears to 1 front. The Conti's are going to be around for a long time. In our testing they were really good. Just behind the new Michelin 4S.
If I can help with anything let me know.

I just ordered a set of these. We shall see. I'll mount them in a few weeks when my current S04s are spent.
I notice that the tread width of the Conti 225/45 and 255/40 is actually a tiny bit less (virtually the same) as the S-04 215/45 and 245/40 tires that I use and like now. I think in the case of this Conti tire the 225 and 255 tires are the best size for my slightly wider than oem Volk ce28s as osu1978 suggests.
