Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

Just a note to everyone with stock wheels, these FSI500 runs narrower than the michelin PSS. i would recommend anyone looking at these tires for stock wheels go with 255/40 as the 245/40 runs only 8.3" wide on the tread! this tire will be stretched on a factory 8.5j rear wheel.

Not sure how much stock I would put in this info, but I just spoke to the FS guy in my area (DFW, Texas), he says the Firehawk line is being discontinued. He also searched for these tires in both his "product streams" (he called it something like that) and could only find 1 255/40/17 he could get his hands on.

I just put my first 100 miles on the FSI500 and so far I like them better than the Conti DW that came off my '06. I do run taller tires than most(235/45-17F 245/45-17R). I run 30 psi all round. Have ran this size tire on my S for close to 100k miles now. These were slick as hell when they first hit the road but after about 10 miles they hook up very good. I think they hold the corner better than the DW's that I have ran for around 40k miles. So if you DD your S try the taller tires out and see if you like them. All I did was go with a C/R front sway bar because of the extra rubber up front, the 235's make it very hard to get the car to push in a tight corner.
I got all 4 shipped free from simpletire for $421 to my house. All 4 tires were made in the 49th week of 2016.

Well I have 2000 miles on the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires and all I can say is that they are better than the Continental ExtremeContact DW that came off my '06 S. They are quieter, smoother and hold the corner just as well as the DW. How long will they last IDK, I just replace the tires when they wear out. I just like getting more than 15k miles on a set of tires and I also drive when its wet so I want a tire that won't give up all it's traction when you're on wet roads. So far I like them.

I have around 6k miles on them so far. They're holding up well - my rears look like they have more than half the tread left still.. and the front looks almost new.

Just bought some and had them mounted this morning. Putting them on the car tomorrow.

I am surprised these are not directional tires.
