I know tire size doesn't change the offset literally but if I went to a 225 it would have more of a chance to touch the fender am I right. And thanks for the reply guys.

Also i ordered project kics r40 iconix for these. Do u think they will poke past the wheel ? Should I just buy project kics r26 instead and play it safe? Once I get them I was told there not refundable

Yes. The tire is wider and taller.

IMO, the real issue with the stretched look will be the rear. A 245/40 PSS already looks stretched on a 8.5" OEM wheel.

A TC105N in the rear at +49 offset is going to require a roll (no pull) with either a 245 or 255 tire. Sorry if this is bad news, OP.

215/45/17 will be fine. I would start with those and make sure you aren't getting any rubbing (assuming you haven't rolled the fenders already). 8 inch wide wheels are still within the range for 215's. You'll be fine.

I have read quite a few people with the same offset and wheel width not having to roll the fenders. And also 10 years ago when I owned my first s2000 I had 18x9 +50 in the back with a 245 tire and it never rubbed and I was lowered on coilovers

I did some pretty extensive research on TC105Ns; really had my heart set on them because they're awesome wheels. I PM'd several owners, and all were in consensus that a roll for the rear would be required with a 255 (and even a few guys said their 245s (Star Spec Z1s) didn't fit without a roll and being lowered. If you go through with this I'd love to see a pic if it does in fact work...because I really still want these wheels if they'll fit without a roll.

Tires are unfortunate all over the map as far as width depending on the manufacture, so they are the inconsistent curve ball between fitting and not fitting on the same spec sizing. pss 245 run narrow for a 245 compared to a typical extreme summer, so keep that in mind. 9+49 is right in that range where it can go either way depending on the tire and ride height and camber. In the OP case here I don't think he will need to roll with his tire choice.

roll your fenders. then 225/255.

or run stock stuff. MPSS run narrow in 17's already, FYI, the lack of 255/40 choice rules them out for a lot of folks on this sit.

or go buy new wheels.

i've said in the past, the only people who worry about the damage rolling your fenders will do are people who have not rolled them yet. i've never heard anyone say "i wish i didn't roll my fenders"
