J's front / ASM rear fenders and 17x10 +35's tire selection help needed
Hey guys I'm a new poster here just bought my S2000 some weeks ago. It's kind of a project and first on the list is a slightly higher ride height, new tires, and a bitchin alignment/suspension tune.
It's got J's +40mm widebody front fenders and nothing on the rear now. Due to immense wheel size and offset (17x10 +35) the wheel sticks outside the rear fenders which were poorly pulled/rolled which the PO compensated for by stretching 225/45's on front and back...what a shame! I know it's some guys' thing but I'm shootin for something a little more practical.
The plan of attack is to install ASM overfenders and fit wider tires that are hopefully similar to stock size. Most people using this fender setup I've found use 17x9" with 255/40's front and back:
Since my rims are an inch wider I think this sways me in the non-staggered, 275/40 ish direction with a liveable size increase and nice tire selection at that size.
Is this a decent size tire to go with? Any recommendations/past experiences?

How much wider are the front fenders? 40mm? I don't think with that offset you'll be able to get a 275/40. There are a few people who are running overfenders though...you should PM them individually to get better info. I don't know exact screennames but some are :s2k_dude, nichigo, superslows2k, Washabi. I would ask them. Are you cutting and welding the rear fenders?

hey thanks for the leads I'll give those guys a try. The fronts are +40 and yes I plan on cutting/welding during the rear flare install. Does anyone know how much wider the ASM rear flares are over stock?

the j's racing front fenders are actually +35 mm ... or so i've read
IMO, i'd say try mounting a pair of 255/40/17 before jumping to 275/40/17 to test rubbing issues
most people with the asm and spoon rear fenders run around the size of 17x9 +40
btw, the asm rear's are +25. j's racing came out with new rear overfenders that are +40 and more on the aggressive side
