Default Kosei K5R and K8R, new STR Wheels?

I was randomly browsing Tire Rack and using the SCCA STR class option for the S2000 and I discovered two new wheels, the Kosei K5R and K8R up for sale with availability dates of 3/15/2015. Looking at Kosei's facebook page here it looks like the K5R will weigh 16.56 lbs and the K8R will weigh 16.45 lbs, in 17x9, which should make them great inexpensive STR wheels. Are these definitely going to be offered in an STR-friendly offset (hopefully yes, by their inclusion under the SCCA STR class option)? Is there any more information on these wheels?

K5R looks pretty good. K8R looks like theres too much going on for me. But I'm sure others will dig it.

At only 16.5lbs for 17x9, that's pretty epic. At the time of writing, Tire Rack is taking preorders at only $209 a wheel, for both K5R and K8R. That's pretty beastly for a set of lightweight wheels.

Those are my thoughts too, I like the K5R. Might just be worth picking up a set to supplement my TRMotorsport C3s that I bought last year. Since at that kind of weight and price, they're only ~1.7lbs a wheel off from the weight of the lightest Volks

WOW. Nice, like the look of both and what a price point. I wonder if they are bbk friendly with the high offset.

I dont get how people are running 17x9's with 255's in a STR only setup without cheesing their front fenders. I know your supposed to push the tabs in but im damn near already during full lock and countersteer and im on stock ap1's lol (13 inch centercap to fender on 570 lbs/in).
