i'd worry about the S on the rare occasions when it rains in socal because 1) you're subject to the ramifications of dumb moves pulled by the idiotic drivers around you (socal drivers are downright dangerous in the rain and force you to make sudden maneuvers) and 2) because it rains so rarely, the road drainage system is pathetic and flooding and standing water are very common (ever driven the fast lane of the santa monica freeway when it's pouring?). but i don't drive my S when it rains.

douglaS2000 (i hope i got his screen name right) just changed to S-03's. you might want to PM him and ask for his rationale.

If you are not an aggressive driver then the S03 will give better wet traction and more compliant ride. The OE tires will give better handling in the dry.
