Default lowering and tire wear

I was just wondering if lowering a car has any affect on tire wear / treadlife.

On a 1997 prelude, the rear tires (yoko's ES100) are wearing faster than the fronts?!?!....the only thing that has changed in the fast few months is the car was lowered about an inch......any thoughts????
