I spent 3 years looking for a set of the OE BBS wheels and whoot, they arrived this week!!! Yes, a quality 16" tire is hard to come by right now. RS4s, Re71s, Star Specs (will soon be replaced by the Z3 but no confirmation on 16" sizes)...

I'm tempted to just remount my Re11's that are currently on the USDM 16" wheels.

I ran 17" Ap2v1s for a long time but I enjoy the ride and responsiveness of the 16" - I mean, the best engineers in the business at that time designed the whole car around 16" wheels/tires...so...

I'll post a pic when mounted!

Ahhh. A man after my own heart. I feel exactly the same. We are in a distinct minority.
Turns out now I'm the proud owner of not one, but two, ap1s. I ended up buying that car described in my post above. 03 Silverstone with OEM hard top. And, the new one comes with a fresh set of S02 tires. So, I'll get to experiment with the S02s AND the Contis this spring. Life is good.

I'm spending way too much money to have these new to me JDM BBS 16 inch wheels refinished properly with a paint and clear coat hyper silver finish. I'm debating now whether to sell my ap2 v3 wheels to help defray the cost. We shall see. I think I'll wait until I'm in to next season a while to be 100% sure I'm sticking with these 16" wheels.

If I could find a good quality set of alloy lug nuts with ball type seats it would not make me unhappy. So far no luck. So, looks like OEM steel unless someone has a source?

Aluminum lug nuts are not very important on a street car. Sure, they're lighter, but they're also easy to damage just taking them on and off a few times. I'd just pick up a set of black ball seat lugs and be happy. Search eBay for "20 HONDA BALL RADIUS STOCK OEM WHEELS LUG NUTS 12X1.5 M12 1.5 CLOSED END BLACK" or the Gorilla lugs if you need security locks.

Put the fresh S-02 tires on your BBS wheels and you have a fantastic combination.

heres my S with the staggered setup on 205/225 RE-11, i can't wait to break out the 2nd set of rears and try a square setup with 245 RE-11's. its cool looking at other S2ks with the same wheels lol!

that being said though, i kinda want to try out 17" wheels to see if the extra weight and width really make a difference.245 square on 16's vs 255 square on 17's doesn't seem like much of an advantage in my head.

Beautiful.
My wheels are being refinished. Can't wait for spring to get them on my car. I love the look of these JDM BBS wheels.

Does anyone have the current Porsche spec S02 tires? wondering if the tread is the same as the Honda spec S02. Need some new tires for my JDM BBS wheels.

I have a set coming but not until spring when I pick up my "new" s2k from the seller. I suggest that you contact Tirerack. They will know. Let us know what you find.

There are a few other very good options of course.

The front and rear wheels don't have the same center bore - if you put a rear on the front, you should get a centering adapter so that the lug bolts aren't used to center the wheel.

got the center bores machined, put the rears in the front, 245/45/16 toyo T1R's all around. setup feels much different from a staggered setup, turn in isn't as quick/sharp but you definitely feel the wider track and braking stability has improved for sure. i got a trackday at the end of the month so i'll update you when i can really stretch its legs, but i feel that the stiffer front sway bar will help alot because with the new setup it feels like it got squishier than before.

Square is not my personal cup of tea as a 100% street guy. But, they do look great imho.
