won't fit in front, the +45mm on an 8" wheel would leave about a 1/4" sticking out if you can find 225's (235/35-19 way more common)

L,
The only bolt pattern for our cars is the 5x114. +45 is too low for 8" width. Need at least +55 or higher depending on size of tires.

A couple companies make 225/35/19's and I think Pirelli makes a 215/35/19 if you must get 19's. I'd try to get a 19x8.5 and run 255/30/19 or 265/30/19 in the back. Find a rim with the right offset first though.

I have an '02 on order and plan to put racing tires on the stock wheels for scca autocross. Have just purchased Volk Racing GT-P's 18x9 rear, 18x8 front for every day driving/sporting. I am considering Falken tires because most brands do not seem to sell tires to fit this wheel size/combo. I have also heard that performance is hurt by lowering the car so I am considering higher profile tires to fill the wheel wells. I would appreciate suggestions.

The 19" wheel and tires will fit on the car but there is not a good size tire to go with. The only matching tires would be Pirelli P7000 in 215/35R19 and 265/30R19. The problem with these sizes is the car would not handle well at all. You would have way too much understeer..

19" are rough on your ride and handling if you are planning on doing mountain runs with lots of twisties and turns.

Be sure to look for at least 50-55mm offset or you are going to rub the hell out of your tires. Tire sizes are hard to come by as well and they are more expensive.

From what I have heard, 18" are the best balance between show and go... but again, make sure you have plenty of offset.

Cheers,
