Yeah I'm split on the rs-4 and maxxis's rc-1 tire. and I'm running out of time to decide. I'm leaning toward the rc-1. I know they don't compare but it's either wear or cheap grip

Rc1 r meh. Stick with NT01 if u want best 100 tw tire.
BTW rc1 is a semi slick and rs4 a street tire. U can't really compare them.

Split between a 200 and 100 UTQG? One is a Extreme and the other is a DOT R-compound. Will that even last anywhere near as long as the current crop of 200s? I would expect substantial difference in grip simply for the amount of rubber in contact.

Are you street driving? if so RS4. RC1 is a track only tire man. You DO NOT want to get caught in the rain with an rc1 on. I run RC1s in the dry, but have a spare set of wheels with RA1s on them for wet weather. RC1s were proven faster than NT01s with the same car and driver btw...see motoiq.

lul...,read my entire post. It will repeat or answer the last three post. But to answer the two questions. I only drive it on the street when I HAVE to and I already have crap tires for that (I only live two and a half miles from NOLA motorsport. Seven miles from my job). to the person that said NT01's, Maxxis RC-1 are cheaper so just why.

Haven't driven it on the track yet, but I daily my car and touge backroads. I took out for a shakedown and compared to my old Star Spec II's and I almost like them better. I have to drive the car harder and figure out where I want to set the tire pressure. As for sidewall, which was my biggest concern, they feel as stiff if not stiffer than the Dunlops. I love them so far. I took it out on an exit that's a semi banked sweeper coming off a bridge and nailed it very comfortably. I usually use this turn to test out the car feel since I know exactly how to hit it at various speeds. It's one of my benchmarks. I felt like I could've pushed it even harder. My impressions are merely anecdotal as I've only got them today. I didn't think anything could top the Dunlops but the Hankooks look promising. I've taken the Dunlops through autocross, spirited driving, backroads, severe wet conditions, all the while daily driving and they're a top notch tire in my book for what I've done with the car. The RS4s are already earning brownie points from me. My car will be ready for the track after June. If I like them enough I might just buy another set :P.

I'm curious though, what tire pressures is everyone running? Cold and hot (using a temp gun). The only info I could reference was a Miata. I'm assuming slightly lower pressures than usual.

I ended up ordering some RS4's in 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17rear. They are surprisingly more comfortable than the RE11A's they're replacing. Not only are they more comfortable but they are more confidence inspiring. The sidewalls are surprisingly stiff yet the ride is way more comfortable. Braking is improved over the RE's but then again the RE's were 215/4517 and 245/40/17. I've taken it on street, highway, and canyon driving and I'm very impressed so far. I am going to Streets of Willow on the 14th so I should be getting more feedback about how they drive on track soon.

nice, im looking forward to coming back to la too. its been a few years since ive driven streets. and you are ride about how comfortable they are. its always been a hankook thing. firm yet conformable. Post some video from your car when you get a chance to run them and also play with pressures and let us know what you think. When i drove on mine i lost track of my temp readings i had taken so i didnt bother posting them as they didnt have much meaning anymore
