new tires for supercharged application

Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I just replaced 255/40-17, 265/40-17 Star Specs on my ~520hp RX-7 with PSS in 245/40-17, 275/35-18. The PSS's are more communicative and responsive, the car's handling feel was transformed. I had thought something was wrong with the steering geometry!
For the OP's stated usage and desires, PSS for sure. Dry grip, wet grip, hydroplaning resistance, responsiveness all kick ass.

thanks for the suggestion. actually i just read about cold weather restrictions for the R1R's and the AD08's. They would be stored outdoors in winter, so i guess i won't be getting either of those!

I got the same car...Try the PSS, it's pricy but you got what you pay for... In the dry unless you drive as a lunatic , it's hard to trigger the Vsa, In the wet they are truly a class apart, I never had such a confidence in the rain..there are several comparos by car&driver and tire rack that points to them as the best wet performance tire.

I've decided to roll the dice on the Dunlop ZII's. They should be here by tomorrow and i hope to have them installed on Friday. If all goes according to plan, I should have about 150 miles on them by Monday and can post a mostly useless pre break-in cold weather review!

For street driving they're fine. I have them on my 944 that puts down 354 ft-lbs and has extremely abrupt power delivery and they are fine when they're warm. They don't take as long to warm up as extreme performance summer tires either and last much longer.
