Default OEM Rubber

I have a AP1 and im converting to AP2 rims. What tire sizes would work? just swtick with the stock AP2 tires and just use the yellow box (i have 4.57 as well). The oem rubber for the ap2 is good or is there anything better for street/track driving (outside of RA1's).

Do you have a larger front swaybar? If so, consider starting with a 225/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear. If not, then keep the 215/45-17 front, but bump up to the 255/40-17 rear. The 255 has slightly larger diameter than the stock, but is also slightly wider. Note that some autoxers run 245 upfront and 275 in rear on stock AP2 rims...so that is always possible, but is a lot of tire on that rim width.

As for the rubber...depends on how much you want to spend. I've got 17" rims on the way...and will try out the Falken Azenis 615 since I've heard a lot of good things about them. Nice price too for a dual purpose tire.

I am running the stock AP1 front sway bar, and I have a smaller rear bar sitting in my garage and will install if need be. Never tried the azenis 615. I dont do autox with my s2k, rather track/lapping days, and solo 1 events.

as for rubbers, I never ran on the s02 but had yoks es100 (horrible), and then the hankook z212 (decent), and looking to get some much better rubber, maby I will look to the 615. What about wear or typical life with a "harder" style of driving?

I've heard the azenis total life is on par with the kookies...but I've also heard that while their initial stick is better than the hankooks, they heat cycle faster whereas the kookies hold a minimum level of stick longer.

I'll let you know my thoughts on them in a few months.
