If you need a tire that will work in the snow and cold they are the best that we have tested. They are also going to give you longer tread life than the S02.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

What sizes did you get?

They don't have them in 245/45/16 for the rear as has been recomended for non OEM tires for the AP1

Scott,

I just replaced OEM SO2s with the 960s. I bought the exact same size as the OEMs. They are a little narrower but trying to match the width of the OEMs with these tires would defeat the purpose of buying this type of tire.

After a month of use here are my observations relative to the OEMs. They are much quieter; the wet traction is significantly better -- in fact, in any kind of rain the traction is phenomenal; and traction when the temperature is around freezing is substantially better. These tires lose out to the OEMs in only one dimension; hard acceleration out of a sharp corner. If I'm not careful the back end can swing out. But I rarely do this type of driving on the streets so it is not a big loss. So these tires fulfill all the requirements I was looking for in an everyday tire.

By the way I live just outside of Washington DC.

David
