Default Rear tires *Specs, Front tires ?

What would be a good, available tire for my front tires, while my rear tires are star specs? I can't afford the Dunlops up front right now, and the RS-3's are on back order. Should I do the Federal 595rs-r's, or something else?

Tire sizing is 225/255 currently...Thanks!

The difference in price will be less than 100 for the Star Specs up front. Are you willing to risk that on less than $50 a tire?

Doesn't seem like the risk reward works out on that one.

Can you explain what the risks of running different tires is please? I have ran different fronts and rears before and didn't see too much of a difference, both sets were summer tires. I can understand if the tires where not close in performance, but with similar performance, what are the disadvantages? Thanks.

The Fed 595's that Les schwab carry on the shelf are good for the money if your on a budget. 240 wear rated. $100 each. Good in all weather and handle good in the dry.
