Review of eBay AP2V1 Wheels
#71
Now to finish this up on your own, Google “who supplies Tobacco Road?” You will find it’s WAC.
Go to WAC and see which wheels they are selling in replicas for a 2004 S2000. You will note that they are listed as product by TransWheel. Same wheels, same manufacturer, owned by LKQ that lists the same SAE certifications that I posted a link to above. With some effort, the rabbit hole only goes so deep and one is able to follow it step by step. You are buying LKQ product on eBay.
As I stated above, I am not in this to sell wheels or to convince anyone to buy them. I posted my research (which has been accurate and is verifiable) and developed my own opinion. So far, they have been great. Again, develop your own opinion based upon the info I have provided (verify it yourself) and do as you will. My opinion is that I’m satisfied with my purchase and I am one OCD kinda guy. But again, to each their own.
Cheers

Who supplies Tobacco Road?

Nothing comes up.
So I've checked out Wheels and Caps and yes it does show Transwheel is a supplier...but I've been searching for Wheels and Caps being owned by them as what you wrote. I think you are confusing things up and keep saying you don't want to re fact check your stuff, using a quote for something completely different, then saying something else, etc. etc. LKQ does test every single Refurb wheel, just not new... so you're not getting that right either. Everything I tried to research is based in your original post, so if it's not right, then it's just not right.
Blah, I'm done with this. I do hope you enjoy many fun miles with your rims tho....

Replica wheels
I ordered these for my 2003 s2000 and instantly had them blasted to do powder coat to them. I came across a coupon on eBay so I got them for less. Before blasting they looked great the finish looked OEM. Here’s the finished product. I went with black lug nuts and I plasti dipped the center caps.

245/45/17 is abit taller rear tire size. Perfect to cushion out lowered s2000 that has very stiff springs/struts. Abit taller tire will make the s2000 more tolerable around rough pavement, provide just a bit of more ground clearance with same tucked look, and lower rpm at highway speed making the car much smoother and adding abit more traction. 225/50/17 are actually not offered as i originally thought.

Low profile tires are not always the solution for handling. Look at formula 1 and nascar race tires. Lots of sidewall. The 'give' in more sidewall allows for stiffer springs/shocks/swaybar settings. Infact with oem ap2 tires i had my kw 2 shocks to level 4 harshness and that was pretty rough riding. After i installed larger tires i was able to set the shocks to level6 hardness and the ride was still more "plush" and felt even more on rails. Bit bigger tire will protect rim abit more aswell i know weve all scraped the oem rims from time to time the oem size tires dont offer much rim protection.

If a compnay is standing behind the quality of their products, why dont they get them tested by TUV Germany to get them Street legal here in Germany?
To my knowledge, that is the hardest test worldwide...... and this is maybe the answer.
