Default Rota Titan 17x8 +45 fitment

I’m looking at ordering Rota Titans 17x8” +45 at each corner for my stock 03 AP1. I plan to go with AP2 tire specs, so 215/45/17 front & 245/40/17 rear. Two questions. Is the 8” wheel too wide for a 215 tire at the front? And will any fender modification be required to fit this set up with the +45 offset? I’m stock suspension and do not track the car. Only weekend joyrides.

Thanks for the input!

Anybody??? I am about to pull the trigger on these wheels. The tires have already been delivered, I went with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's in AP2 stock sizing.

225 wide tire would be the optimal size for a 8 inch wheel, one step up or down from that is usually not to much of a problem though.
In your case the rear 245 is probably more of a concern than the fronts.

Don’t buy Rota’s and that’s to narrow for the rear.

Yeah from what I have read the “approved” wheel width for the 215 is 7-8” and for the 245 is 8-9.5”. So fronts may stretch a bit and the rears will pinch, but within the manufacturer’s accepted amounts. Do you think the 245 are a concern because they will be pinched on the 8” wheels or because they may rub on the body?

Why too narrow for the rear? Currenty it’s on stock AP1 rears, 225 on 7.5” wide. I’m looking to go to 245 on 8” wide.

This sizing is a terrible idea. Multiple people itt have said that. Listen to them.

Wheel sizing has been covered on this forum ad nauseam, you need to do a lot more research.

Also, don't buy rotas/xxr/etc.

What about it makes it a terrible idea? The wheel specs are within the recommendations in the wheel fitmet sticky and the tires are stock ap2 sizes. I’m just trying to understand what should be done differently and if anyone else has experience running this setup. If you could offer some suggestions besides, terrible idea and don’t buy rotas it would be appreciated.

Don't run a square wheel setup with staggered tire sizes. That's a bad idea.

8j in the rear is narrow and I wouldn't put a 245 anywhere near an 8" wide wheel (For reference I have 255 on 17x9 & 17x9.5, note: these are separate wheel sets, I run 255 on 17x9 +45 square and 255 on 17x9.5 +43 square)

(Even 255 on a 9" wheel is less than desirable IMO, my next set of tires on them will be 245/40/17)

Rota is a manufacturer of replica wheels. I don't believe in buying replicas, that's why I'm opposed to them.

Thanks for the info. So if I went with a 9" in the rear would that be preferred? I can get the same wheel in 17x9 +42. I'm just hesitant to go with a lower offset. I want to avoid fender modification if I can.

FRONT - 215/45/17 on 17x8 +45
REAR - 245/40/17 on 17x9 +42
