Default S2000 CR rims - How much should I pay?

Hey Guys, someone in my area is selling CR rims. I was trying to find out what the going rate is for these, you don't see them pop up too often. Also is there anyway to tell they are not replicas? Finally, is they anyway to differentiate the ap2v3 vs CR rims? I'm just not sure if people paint the ap2v3 and say they are CRs.

I figured, price isn't too bad. But I'm afraid to shell out money and find out they are a replica.

I wouldn't worry about them being replicas. The only way would be to start with a set of AP2V3 which are already fairly rare. Just take a good look at them first and you should be able to tell if it is factory paint. It's not like there is any difference in weight, specs, etc so it almost doesn't matter. If you are willing to pay the price then go for it.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to get replica oem wheels whether ap2v1 or ap2v3. They were selling them last I checked for a reasonable price, don't remember seeing gunmetal ap2v3 cr reps though.
And I sold my authentic oem cr wheels in great shape for $850 with the cr lugs and matching extreme performance tires that had tread, but were going bad (couple thousand miles left or so) fwiw.

CR wheels are AP2V3 wheels painted grey. Nothing more (or less).

$850 for CR rims with matching lugs and tires seems like a pretty good deal. I have reached out to a few other people to see what they sold theirs for and it was a lot higher than that. In the photos I can see a "jwl" stamp on the front that made me feel a little bit better about them not being replicas.

there aren't any distinguishable mark to identify CR Rim or AP2V3. if you happened to have OEM CR wheel cap, see if it matches color. you can powder coat the rim but it's hard to match the color with cap. Cap is hard to paint right with "H" logo on it. If it is re-painted perfectly, one must have many hours to had it done and not worth the price difference. AP2V3 usually sold (shipped) for $800~$900, CR Rim sold for $1150 ~ $1300. I also looked into getting it from honda and it would've cost around $2500 before tire. - Rims, TPSs, & Caps.
