Just get it patched for 20bucks.
^ Thats a good idea...I only recommended WalMart to the OP as he mentioned he had a long drive in the morning and I know WalMart usually opens earlier in some places, and getting two average tires is a lot less worse than driving 500 miles on a donut.
In the end, it may actually be much better if he delays the trip a few hours to get the tire patched properly for the roadtrip home.

I see idiots driving around on the freeway all the time on donuts. Don't be one of them.

I love the idiots sitting on the side of the road with a flat donut tire.... ask one of them how many miles they got out of their donut, some probably get a couple thousand miles

To the OP, like others said, get the problem fixed.

Huh, just assumed they did. A quick google says you're right though. No lsd.

If the nail punctured the bottom portion of the tire and not the side wall it can most likely be patched at any tire shop. Discount Tire will patch the tire for free regardless if you bought the tires there or not. I would go there if you are able to.
