Default Staggered wheels

I am new to the s2000 as well as this forum. I am looking for a set of wheels. A particular sets of wheels that I am looking at come in 17x7 and 17x9. I know having a staggered setup is best for handling purposes but will having that great of a difference in width negatively influence the cars handling characteristics? And if I did get this set up could I use different tire sizes to correct the width problem? Thank you for tips and opinions.

You need to find out what the offset of the wheels are. The car comes with staggered wheels and tires so there are no issues.
