Default Stickiest track day tire that can still be used on street?

Max grip, period. Don't care about wet performance or noise or treadwear. No slicks or pure racing tires. I want a summer tire that can be used for street driving and track days.

I am on bfg rivals now, which have been pretty good. Maybe looking at re71r or r888r, tropheo r, pilot cup or similar...

thougts?

If you don't care about tire longevity, the RE71R is still the tire to beat

Really??? Even compared to a r-comp like a Nt01 or trofeo?

I dont care about fast wear. What I do care about is consistent performance. I am just a track day guy, so a tire that performs the same lap after lap is key. If the re71 is really peaky, not for me. I am ok with short run life, as long as it's steady throughout that time period.

I think for people in the know your going to get an argument for the tried and true NT01 over the RE71, for these reasons. Arguably similar grip levels, but the RE71 cant sustain it. Peaky is probably a fair statement. A good R comp holds its grip over sustained periods. RE71 would be a fair choice if you were competing in a TIME attack or Auto X, rather then sustained all day lapping where consistency is important. The RE71 is a cheater tire, not a track tire.

So buy a RA1. Tried and true. Cheap. Works.

Hoosier A7/R7 are 100% legal street tire however not their intended manufacturer's purpose obviously

they are the stickiest street tire you can buy that are DOT (Department of Transportation)

a racing slick is something like a Michelin Blue, which is not DOT approved, and therefore not legal to drive on public roads.

StreetABLE is different than DOT legal lol.

But OP said he didn't care about wet traction or wear. So....yes A7's are pretty much the answer to his question.
