For those of you running non-stagger 17x9 all around?
So I hear a lot of good things about s2000 driver's who run 17x9 non-stagger all around and talk about amazing steering feel and decided to give it a try.
I'm running 2002+ NSX oem wheels (17x9, +60 in rear) and decided to use an extra two rear wheels for the front. Going to get the center bore machined out to 70.1mm for huncentric centers but I had a question.
Why does everyone run 255/40/17's?
I'm thinking of doing 245/40/17's all around? will this setup be ok as my car is pretty slammed and I don't want any damaged front fenders during turns and DD
what do you think?

Most guys that run square setups with 255's are autox'ers. The word from most of them is that on stock suspension at stock ride height and stock alignment, you should be OK with a 255 square setup with offsets is the 60's. If you are lowered you may need additional camber. I think with 245's and a 60 offset you will likely be good all around.

i run a 255 non-staggered set up, and the steering feel isn't better...it's worse, but the sheer grip up front overcomes the different feel to me.
A 245 on a 9" wheel should be more responsive than a 245 on a 8.5" wheel or a 255 on a 9" wheel, but neither setup will feel as nimble as a 215 or 225 unless you change to a different steering ratio or a smaller steering wheel.

I'm doing the 17x9 rims all around to gain the concave look with my NSX wheels but I don't want to get mangled fenders or other issues associated with running wide tires up front. I may go with a 17x9 non-stagger rim setup but for tires stick to a 255/40 in rear and use 235/40 up front....

255 simply for more grip.
if you're never going to track the car, i'd stick with staggered wheels and tires. Much easier. No fender work. No extra alignment work. No suspension tweaks like firmer front sway bar and new F/R spring rates.

I have 4x ap2v1s 17x8.5s all around with 255/40 rs3s. The handling compared to the oem staggered set up feels alot heavier in the front, but for a good reason. I feel as if it is way more precise and i have more control over the steering instead of it feeling light and sloppy.
Also, im dropped on espelir springs which leaves me 1 finger gap all around, stock fenders.

What about offsets - if you guys run 17x9 all around, do you stagger the offsets?
My plan was to run 17x9, +56 all around and get a 245/40/17 tire on all 4 sides....
