Tirerack order to Canada: duties/taxes?
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has ordered tires from tirerack and had them shipped to Canada. Vancouver BC to be exact. The site suggests you call UPS to ask them how much but UPS do not guarantee prices on duties and taxes. I just don't want to get stiffed with a large duty/tax bill. any experiences would be appreciated.
Jim, maybe you have experience with Canadian customers before? any idea what it costs when all is said and done and delivered to Vancouver BC?
thanks in advance. BTW I have decided on the AVON 550 A/S. Can't afford to keep up with the stocks anymore.
Thanks everyone

If they ship by UPS, get your KY ready (and lots of it). UPS will reem you a really big "back door" when it gets to you. Shipping from the States to anywhere in Canada by UPS is the LAST thing a Canadian would want. If they will not send via ANY other carrier, have it sent to Seattle and go down and get them yourself.

Go with what Dave said. It's the easiest.
I also replied to your post in the Vancouver forum.

thanks for the replys. i am deciding if I should go through the trouble. but tires are so much cheaper from tirerack then anywhere in vancouver area. since avon tech is not sold in canada. at least i can't find a seller. I guess i'll have to choose a diff tire also cuz i never thought about the safety issue if it's approved for use here. hmm. such headaches.
thanks again guys
