Tread Pattern question
Just did my first replacement of stock S02s on S2000 (03 model). Got almost 14,000 miles and the hydroplanning was not fun.
Per Jims advice for my driving and wanting wet and dry traction and better mileage went with the RE750's.
Still have the stock front tires just replaced the rears. The auto shop said might not be good idea to not replace the fronts due to tread patterns being different.
Anybody have advice in this area? Should the tread patterns being different be something to worry about?
Immediately noticed a more "cushioned" ride with the new tires which was nice for all the highway driving I do.
thanks

The best handling set up is with the same tire on all four corners. So I do agree. The RE750 is the same speed rating and the same kind of tire so will not hurt the car to run them this way. The advantages of the RE750 is in the wet, ride quality and longer tread life.
Is it best to have matching tires? Yes it is. If you don't like the way the mix of tires handle just call and get two new fronts and match them.
