Default Volk hyper colors

I've picked up some wheels which I plan on powder coating volk racing blue. My question is to anyone who has or has seen their hyper colors in person.

Is there any metallic shimmer in the color or is it a flat hyper blue/green/red with a glossy coat on it?

i showed the company that is powder coating for me pics of hyper blue, and their interpretation has a metallic shimmer in it which I don't seem to see in pics of the volk hyper colors. I just want my wheels to match as close to the volk original colors as possible.

Thanks in advance

Some good pics here.

Rays Volk Racing CE28N Wheels 16X8 5X114.3 +42 Offset Hyper Blue Magnesium Blue (Mag Blue) Pre-Order

It does look like it is a metallic blue to me but it is hard to tell. It almost looks like it could be a transparent blue over a sliver?

More pics.

Yes I am, but it's so hard to tell off of the pics online. I'm assuming shops don't know the details of how to exactly mimic volk colors. But some pics look metallic and some just seem glossy over a base color.

Transparent blue over silver sounds interesting and complicated color to copy, but a cool technique to get that color!

Its not hard. There is plenty of powder coats that require 2 stages just like paint. It does mean you'd have to pay more for the work since they have to do 2 coats. My wheels are super chrome with transparent copper over top.

These look fairly close.

You could always email ravspec, evasive, icb, kamispeed or any other volk dealer and see if they can help or if they have a set take a closer picture for you.

Thanks for that info manga
the illusion blueberg looks very close

In the end I'm nitpicking very hard here, so I might just ask evasive or such companies how it looks in person or close up pics.

Every powder coat applicator I talked to cautioned me about looking at pictures of multi-coat chrome and and candy type PC finishes and expecting my wheels to come out looking like the pictures. I gave up on the notion of trying to replicate the Volk Mercury Silver finish with powder coat, and decided instead to go with a satin ti finish on the advice of the powder coat guy I ended up using. I used bengal silver powder and it came out really good.

Here are a few pics of my Volk CE28 wheels after powder coating. I used Bengal Silver with satin clear.

I think the best I'll get is as close to hyper blue as possible without matching it

I think that's right. Don't expect a perfect match.
