Wheel Fitment Guide
#1473
I'm looking at getting a staggered wheel set of 17x7 +45 in the front and 17x8 +40 in the rear for my AP1. Are these okay? If so, what size tires should I get? Not sure what going to 17" from 16" does to OP's chart.

Offsets are pretty low. I would try and find wheels that are the same width as OEM Ap2 wheels so 7 in front and 8.5 in the rear. Diameter does nothing to effect fitment it just changes the tire sizing to account the the different diameter wheel. Are you willing to roll your fenders and relocate the tabs? If not you need higher offsets that those.
As for tire sizes its tough since 8 in a little narrow for the rear. You could run 215/45/17 in front and 245/40/17 in the rear but the rear may be a little pinched. An 8.5 or 9 would be better as long as the offset is higher.

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forums and new to S2K ownership - and the first 1500 miles of driving my '01 has made it abundantly clear why these cars are revered.
I'm in the market for new wheels. Using this thread and a rim and tyre size calculator, it appears some 17", 8.5j, ET60 wheels on 225/45/17 tyres would work. However, finding anything with enough offset is really difficult, everything out there seems to be <45.
I thought perhaps I'm missing a trick with this?

Hey guys, time for a new set of wheels!
Already ordered a set of 17x7.5 +48 / 17x9.5 +58, with 225/45 and 255/40 firehawk Indy 500's (which is a brand that runs narrow).
Currently I'm running SOS spec RG-D's 17x8.0+54 & 17x9.0+60 with he same size tires.
The front I know will fit (poke out 0.3mm less than current rg-d) but I'm wondering about the back. It says it will poke out 8.3mm more but there will be a bit more stretch as the wheel is .5 inch wide than current rg-d.
I'm dropped about 2 finger gap all around, and my question is with the little more stretch I'm getting in the back, will the back be able to fit with just camber adjustment?
Current rg-d have zero rub. Fenders are stock.
Thank you!

I'm sorry for asking but it's so hard to research and search for a specific width with a specific offset.
I'm currently in the market for a S2000.
I've have a set of 17x8.5 +50 wheels with 235/40/17 tires. When I bought these wheels, the seller said it was S2k spec. But from my research, the front will require fender modifications, which I don't want to do.
So I'm thinking of ordering new tires. Will these rub on stock suspension and unmodified fenders? What about if I lower the car?
Front: 225/45/17? If it will, how about 215/45/17?
Rear: 255/40/17?
Thank you so much!

Awesome, thank you so much for that. i had a feeling it SHOULD fit, as its only 8mm more than what i have and i remember still having some room (cars in storage so couldn't measure). fingers crossed, hopefully no rub at all and if there is hopefully just a bit more camber will solve it. i'm trying to keep my car 100% stock to retain its value.
