17x9 +60 will still rub or catch the fenders with a 255 if you are driving hard enough and are lowered at all. Should be fine for moderate street driving, though. What destroys the fenders is catching a slide with opposite lock because of the way the wheels compresses and casters into the fender in that situation.
Picked up these rs2 (front 17x8 +54 with 225/40/17, rear 17x9 +63 with 255/40/17) have it lowered by this much shown in the pic. I am trying to go for the most flush fitment possible with stock body with these wheel specs. By the pictures, you can tell how flush it already looks enough. However, should I use spacers or bigger tires in the front to achieve a more flush fitment (if possible) or will it not look right?
Without rolling fenders, you can't go any more aggressive. This setup is already 14mm more outboard than stock AP2 wheels. As is, if you go full bump/full lock it's possible to catch the fender liner tabs and buckle the fender.
