Default wheels 17inch 7.5 all the way around

on a s2k if you run a 225/45/17 all the way round on a 7.5inch wheels how will this effect the car's stock since up since my 02 came with staggered fitted 16's.. or would it be better to run a larger rim on the rear like a 8.5.. i do plan on lowering it on tein coilovers also.

from what i've seen a 17x7 and 17x8.5 set-up or 17x7.5 and 17x9 set-up are pretty good...i talked to a guy with a set-up your talking about and he said the stock 16" handled better...might be driver but then again the S2000's stock set-up is pretty good.

i was just looking at if i ran a 17 by 7.5 all the way around i could swap the tires arounds since the rear wears out so much faster than the front and that way get a little more wear all the way around. with a 225/45/17 the ride should still be good also

go staggered, you could run a 225 all the way around but why would you want less contact patch than stock? and 225/45/17 will be tall for the rear.

Stay staggered because that was the car meant for.

You can get away with a staggered tire set up but your main focus was to run the same width tires so you can rotate them around.

Sure it will be nice to save your tires life, but I don't think it is worth crashing into a wall or crashing into someone.

Stay staggered

i dont think changing them to a 17 by 7.5 would matter that much there is only a few cars that come staggered i;m not sure but i dont think the 350 z is.. and the 225/45/17 would no be that tall i have a 225/35/20 on my xb.. i think 225/45/17 would give you the same tire patch in the rear and the newer s2k's come with a 17 7.5 in the front so that would be stock size rim just different style.. and the rear has a 7.5 now factory 16.. by this it would still ride ok with out really low profile tires..

from old post... you could always run a 17 by 7.5 all the way around and just run a wider tire on the rear .. if staggered means so much

well you answered your question then. but the sidewall ratio in the rear will be messed up.

as long as you dont push the car and understand that your car will definately not act the same with this set up at the limit, you will be fine.

i still wouldnt do it.

There are work arounds to a non-staggered setup. I would recommend a relatively aggressive alignment in the rear and a fair amount of rear toe in to compensate for the non-staggered tires. Other than that, you should be fine.

Be careful learning the limits!

that's what i was thinking also what about the mugen wheels or to some the rota c10's.. they arent staggered but you see alot on s2000. guess they are running off set tires or different spaceng.. to get it to work or is there another way.
