Default Would this setup be OK?

18 x 7.5's on 225/40/18 all around?

I know it would be better to get 8 or 8.5 or even 9" rear, but they only come in 7.5. Do you this setup would be OK?
Thanks,
-Brandon

in a nut shell no.

Unless you want to induce some serious oversteer problems.

That is what I thought, but a company who is sometimes represented on this board told me that it would work. Anyone else know for sure?
Thanks,

brandonb,

225/40/18 in the rear sucks...you are going to loose performance like you wouldn't believe.

Here are the tire sizes you should use in 18's. If these tire size combos don't fit the wheel, I strongly recommend against getting them.

215/40/18 + 245/35/18, overall diameter = (24.8, 24.8)

225/40/18 + 255/35/18, overall diameter = (25.1, 25.1)

225/40/18 + 265/35/18, overall diameter = (25.1, 25.3)

225/40/18 + 285/30/18, overall diameter = (25.1, 24.8)

All of the sizes above are damn close to the stock diameter of 24.8 inches. My favorite is the 225 and 255 combination.
