Just before sanding and blending. I actually cut my own hole in the foam further toward the back because there was a void there too.

Test fit of neoprene that I cut from one of my old scuba wetsuits. I precisely cut the edge to the contour and glued it in with adhesive a bit later.

Just before a cleaning with the Dupray Neat steam cleaner. I had never cleaned leather with it before so I tested in on some older material first.

Finished product after a treatment of Voodoo Leather Conditioner. I think it looks a little better but there wasn't much I could do about the creases that had set in. I didn't want to blast it with steam too long.

Use a screwdriver to separate the hog rings. There are a about ten you will need to remove.

You can see here that mine was torn and quite perished. It needed filler and some help on that outside tear.

FlexSeal tape placed on outside and masking tape to hold the shape and prevent over-expansion of foam by letting it squirt out the top. I finished the job by trimming excess expanding foam and then putting tape over the repair to protect it.

This is just before finish sanding. I used a dremel tool and sanding sponge.

Neoprene in place for a test fit. It was moved up a bit and trimmed precisely to line up with the stitching in the seat.

After a vacuum and steam. I steamed with a brush attachment and then wiped it with a microfiber towel.

Blew steam through each vent until it came out of the remaining vents and turned on the system to blow it out. Disinfects and deodorizes with 285 degree steam.

Before filler. You can clearly see the pits and missing material/cracks even though there is unmatched red dye on top.

Here is the filler in all of the right places. You work it in with the plastic knife and then skim it off. It will go where it is needed. I hadn't sanded it yet.
