1. Spoon's Type One Showroom

It's no secret that Japan gets to have all (well, most of) the fun when it comes to Japanese cars. And if you ever get a chance to visit the land of the rising sun, you'll be rewarded with what amounts to a car lover's dream. One of the most amazing spots of all is Spoon's Type One Showroom, which sits rather close to Ogikubo Station, making it a must see for all Honda fans. For those of us who can't hop on a plane and check it out in the flesh, Jalopnik's Ken Saito recently stopped by the incredible showroom and provided us with lots of tasty pics.

2. A Brief yet Special History

Spoon's Type One building is a separate entity from the corporate headquarters and distribution center. The showroom has only been open since 2001, though the company itself has existed since the 80's. Originally, it was intended only as a hot rod shop for Type R vehicles, but it has since expanded to include restoration, maintenance, and repair work on virtually all performance Honda vehicles. And of course, you'll find a number of S2000s there at any given time.

3. White AP1 with a Spoon Body Kit

As soon as Saito entered the showroom, he spotted this clean AP1 with the ever popular Spoon body kit sitting right next to an NSX-GT race car that had participated in the Macau Grand Prix. The body kit is so popular, in fact, that there's a three-month waiting list to get one at the moment. The S2000 also sported wing mirrors and gold pinstripes, along with an asking price of 3,800,000 yen.

4. Lime Green AP1 Restoration

A stripped down, lime green AP1 caught Saito's eye for obvious reasons. It isn't every day you see an S2000 painted this color, after all. But we must admit that despite the fact that lime green is a paint choice we wouldn't have previously dreamed of throwing down on any car, we're kinda digging it.

5. Lime Green AP1 Restoration (continued)

Take a look at the stripped out interior of the green AP1, and you'll quickly realize this is a restoration project in progress. The work is a testament to Spoon and their tenacious attention to detail, of course. That much is obvious by the immaculate condition of the insides, despite the absence of most of its parts.

6. Ex-Works S2000

Sitting right next to a DC2 Integra Type-R sat this incredible ex-works S2000. The 260 hp, 2.0 liter VTEC powered ride is just begging for someone to free it from its proverbial jail consisting of stacks of tires and various parts. And with a price tag of $58,000, somebody's going to do just that.

7. One Last S2ki for Sale

Saibo also spotted this grey S2000 Type-S sitting right next to a Spoon modified S660 and near an incredible, original S800M. At an undisclosed price, this clean and giant winged S2ki is going to make someone very happy. We hope it gets rescued soon and receives some proper track time as a reward.
