AP1 Transformation Timeline Is a Virtual Time Capsule

The S2Ki forum is full of builds, which just goes to show you that our members are more than happy to DIY when modding their cars. But every so often, we're treated to not just cool builds, but some pretty amazing photography, too. That was certainly the case with vishaalidoiswin's insanely cool build thread, which you can find right over here.

Dream Fullfilled

Even though he's owned his car for less than a year, you can tell that vishaalidoiswin has been itching to get one for a long time. "I've always had my eyes on these, but I was waiting for the right time and the right one. I still remember the morning I got it, almost immediately after buying, a group of us drove down to a friend's farm at a beach in Salinas, CA. Easily one of the best days of my life."

Time Capsule

Folks have many different reasons for starting build threads, but vishaalidoiswin's is rather unique. "The point of this thread, for the most part, is for me to scroll back through one day when I'm super old and feel nostalgic about the transformation of this car over time. I also intend to do plenty of thorough reviews along the way as well, so hopefully, that helps some of you out."

First Mod

The first step in this long and arduous journey began with after a few trips through the twisties, when vishaalidoiswin discovered a weak link. "When I picked it up, the shocks were nearing the end of their life and needed replacement. Since I knew I was going to track it, I went ahead and purchased Ohlin's Road & Track Coilovers. The DFV technology in these coilovers is super interesting. This is truly a game changer on backroads, as it makes a huge difference in terms of how planted the car feels."

Closer to Earth

That mod lowered the car just a tad, but vishaalidoiswin has plans to get it even lower. "The car sits about a quarter inch lower than stock ride height. I plan on lowering the car just a bit more, along with installing half shaft spacers and front roll center adjusters. This will likely happen before the autocrossing/tracking."

Going Lower

After a rainy (but awesome) photo shoot with his buddy and his Evo X, it was time to get back to business. "More parts! EVS Tuning offset camber joints and EVS Tuning half shaft spacers. Should be everything I need to lower the car just a little bit more. I'll be getting the car corner balanced as well, perfect timing too since I needed to wait for a few hundred miles for my coilovers to settle/break-in."

Pose For Me

Of course, even the parts for this build get the high-quality photo treatment. Seeing all of this just makes us feel like we need to go out, buy a decent camera, and take a photography class or two!

Installed and Tested

It isn't long before all of these new parts are installed and the car's suspension sorted out and "tested." "There we go: lowered, corner balanced, and RCA + half shaft spacers installed. Oh, and it's been very heavily tested in the mountains."

New Shoes

And the mods didn't stop there. Next up were some remote damper adjusters, which made making adjustments a little easier for vishaalidoiswin. And soon, some new shoes. "I came across these dark gunmetal WedsSport TC105Ns, wrapped in Hankook V12 evo2s and had to pull the trigger. They came off another S2000 with good fitment & offset: 17×9+49 245/40/17 square."

Moving Forward

This is just the beginning for vishaalidoiswin's dream ride, however. He's got some big future plans but is doing things the right way and taking the time to research each mod before he pulls the trigger. So be sure and stay tuned to this build's future progress by heading over here!
