Dream Build

There are some very good reasons why you see so many Honda S2000s at the track. And that's, well, the fact that they're fantastically fun and quite adept at eating up laps at speed. And if we had the means to build our version of the ultimate track S2000, it would probably look something like Evasive Motorsports' amazing AP2 build recently featured in DSport Magazine

Strong Bones

Of course, the S2000 makes a great base for a track car to begin with, thanks in part to its super stiff chassis and 50/50 weight distribution. But that doesn't mean you can't make it handle or perform even better.

Knowledge is Power

Evasive Motorsports has been around since 2002, constantly tinkering with S2000s for many of those years. And they've perfected their formula through countless outings at track events, setting a number of records along the way.

Blank Check Build

Thus, when the owner of this particular car wanted to transform it into the ultimate track S2000, he knew who to call. And he wrote Evasive essentially what amounted to a blank check to make it happen.

Blown Up

Evasive started out by tearing the car completely apart and fitting it with a custom cage. They then stitch welded the shock towers for additional strength and fabricated custom chassis mounts for the massive Voltex Racing Type 7 carbon fiber wing.

Keep Cool

To ensure the car's drivetrain stayed cool, Evasive went with an HKS intercooler, Koyo radiator, and created custom ducting that directs airflow through the intercooler and out of ports cut into the hood.

Entire Catalog

On the outside, Evasive threw the entire Voltex Racing aero package at this AP2. The kit consists of a new front bumper, carbon fiber lip spoiler, and canards, side skirts, over fenders, and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser.

Built for Strength

Next, the entire F22C was taken apart, machined, and the block sleeved. In went a set of CP pistons and Carillo connecting rods. A ported head helps increase flow, and ARP studs hold it all together. But the cherry on top is that HKS GTS7040 supercharger.

More Power

With 14 psi of boost and running on E85, this redone engine cranks out 351 reliable horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. Which, when combined with a solid foundation, is more than enough to light up any local track.

Perfect Balance

And that's what this no budget build is designed to do. The fact that it also looks like a top notch show car is just icing on the cake. And to us, it might just be the ultimate S2000, and most certainly one of the more nicely balanced ones we've ever come across!
