Fastest Track Built Honda S2000 Racecars

The S2000 is a platform that can be tuned and molded into nearly anything. With the right tuner, and enough money, you can push the power output of Honda’s 4 cylinder to astronomical heights. Here are some of the quickest and most powerful S2000s on the planet.

Real Street S2000

What’s crazier than a Honda that blows down the drag strip in less than 7 seconds, at over 186mph? The fact it retains the F22C under the hood. That’s right, this isn’t some V8 swapped car, it still runs the Honda 4 cylinder (plus a huge turbo). At a massive 1351 horsepower, to the wheels, this car obliterates the quarter mile. The engine was built by Inline-Pro and the car competes in the stock chassis/hot rod class. Doesn’t hurt that it only weighs 2,200lbs as well. You can see all the details is this video.

J’s Racing Touge Maou

This car was around a few years ago when Best Motoring was running the Touge series, where one car chased another on a mountain pass. Dubbed the “Maou” or “Devil King” this car was one of the fastest builds that ever ran in the class. The car featured some pretty wild aerodynamics and delivered in spades when it came to back road performance. Running on AD08 R tires that measured 295/30/18 in the rear and 265/35/18 in the front, the car had plenty of mechanical grip to hustle through the tight turns of the touge. You can watch it run in this video.

Top Fuel World Time Attack S2000

Turbocharging any vehicle will result in performance, and that’s exactly what the guys at Top Fuel did to build this S2000. Squeezing out 700hp from an F20C that was upgraded to 2.2L, the car held records at Tsukuba for several years. It is currently being upgraded to run in WTAC and will no doubt be one of the fastest machines around. It utilizes the factory chassis and Top Fuel’s philosophy of tuning the factory power plant. A great example of what can be done without a tube frame chassis or exotic engine swaps. Check out all the details here.

ASM S2000

If you’re familiar with a little track in Japan called Tsukuba, then you may be familiar with lap times around the circuit as well. A Ferrari F50 will cut times of about 1.01.xx, but produces over 500 horsepower. This little guy makes less than 300 horsepower, yet will lap a full second faster than the prancing horse. Using lightness as its weapon, the ASM Honda S2000 is able to match times of an expensive exotic car that produces almost double the power output. Certainly one of the fastest naturally aspirated track Honda’s around. Find out more about ASM here.

S2Buck Chuck

We’re not talking about the cheap wine, but the room might feel like it’s spinning after a lap in this speed sled. Though this S2k does have many cast-off and leftover parts in it, it was not a low budget build.  Driven by Graham Downey it was able to lay down a time of 1:45.541 at Buttonwillow. Nothing to scoff at. Sticky Hankook C91s and a V1 supercharger good for almost 400whp make this car a formidable weapon. You can read more about it here.
