Seeking Input

Even though Honda quit selling the S2000 years ago, one could argue that the car's popularity remains as strong as ever. The automaker obviously realizes this, which is why they've decided to roll out an entirely new catalog of parts for the model this coming June. But when it comes to deciding which parts to offer in this catalog, they're asking us enthusiasts for help.

Participation Matters

To submit your suggestions, all you have to do is post on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #S2000PartsCatalog, then state which genuine parts and accessories you want to see in the new catalog. Honda is also asking which parts would become hard to find if supply stops, such as any without aftermarket-supplied alternatives. They're taking your input now until April 30, 2020.

Future Updates

After this process is completed, Honda will update its Japanese parts catalog site in May before rolling out the complete catalog in June. Clearly, they're taking this process very seriously, and it's great news that they're seeking input from the folks that own and drive these cars in regards to what they will offer.

Future Preview

This move wasn't a complete surprise, of course. We got a strong hint a few months ago when Honda debuted its 20th Anniversary S2000 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. That concept wore a handful of new and updated parts, which may or may not make it to the final catalog. But we'd wager that they will.

Doing Research

As far as what else we'll see in this new catalog, well, that remains to be seen. But we're particularly interested in hearing what fans of the model want. And we can easily search the hashtag in the coming weeks to get a good idea of what those parts might consist of.

Good Business

As far as the possibility that we might see a brand new S2000, well, we've pretty much given up on that idea. But at least it's clear that Honda is keen to support its existing cars well into the future. If nothing else, it's just a good business practice to take care of your rabid enthusiasts, even if you don't sell the model they love anymore.
