Put To the Test

We've been treated to some great car shows in the past, with the likes of the old Top Gear and newer Grand Tour providing gearheads with many hours of entertainment. Now, a trio of well-known influencers has teamed up to create Sorted, a new web series that attempts to find the most well-sorted or best overall build on the planet. And one of those builds just so happens to be a heavily modified Honda S2000.

Introduction

Sorted is hosted by Rob Ferretti (on his own YouTube channel), The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah, and YouTuber Emelia Hartford, who has also appeared in the Netflix series The Fastest Car. On the first episode of Sorted, the trio spent some time exploring each car and its owner, going over all of the modifications and quirks of the home built rides.

Enthusiast Build

The 2001 model year S2000 is owned by a guy named Cody, and it's one of the most classic enthusiast builds of the group. While some of the cars in the competition were put together by professionals, Cody clearly built his Honda the way he wanted to, and that's evident by the somewhat unorthodox way in which he approached the build.

First Things First

For starters, Cody spent time upgrading the car's suspension and aero before touching the drivetrain. That included the giant chassis-mounted rear wing, front splitter, and wheels and tires. But Cody wanted a car that could carve up his local mountain roads with ease, which is what drove him in that direction in the first place.

Serious Power

Soon, he caved and began to massage some serious power from the S2000, however. The stock bottom end has been replaced with a stroked J's Racing prototype setup, which features a lofty 12:1 compression ratio paired with a giant single turbo. On 93 octane fuel, the car makes around 700 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.

Weight Savings

Cody also worked on removing weight from the car by adding a slew of carbon-kevlar bits and pieces, including the door panels and center console. The S2000 rides on KW V3 coils, which reportedly makes it a nice dual-purpose street/track car. Once out on the road, it's pretty darn loud, however, which is a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Healthy Competition

Early impressions of Cody's S2000 are undoubtedly good, and it puts a smile on all three hosts' faces with ease. Despite the fact that it's going up against cars like a 2,000 horsepower Viper, it's clear that the little Honda stands a fighting chance in this competition. So be sure and tune in to see how things ultimately shake out!
