This time attack S2000 has not only the parts but the lightweight build to punch far higher than its weight class.

Still natural

Rudolf Windbacher is the proud owner of this S2000-RS that was spotted at the Reisbrennen festival in Germany. The engine, which is still NA, has been tweaked to put out 320 bhp due to the 2.5-liter Brian Crower stroker kit. The stock intake manifold has also been retained rather than converting the car to ITBs. An intake in the front bumper shoots air striaght to a custom homemade carbon airbox so that the motor gets all the precious air it needs.

All headers aren't good headers

The stock headers, which have proven to be more flow efficient than a good deal of aftermarket options has also been left in place. Often times many tuners will change the headers if it will save them some weight versus the horsepower they may lose.

Stripped down and ready for action

On the interior of the car, everything stock has been gutted out and replaced with a series of tech updates. A custom switch panel now sits where the center console once was and an AiM MXG dashboard sends back all the vital info to Rudolf. The responsibility of the engine management comes from Haltech ECU.

Dialed in for aggression

The KW Competition suspension setup on the time attack racer was studied and compared over and over again before settling on the dialed in setup. The brake system has been upgraded to AP Racing to bring things back to legal speeds when needed to in the tight corners. On each of the four corners, there are 17x9 Motec wheels wrapped in sticky Avon 230/605/R17 slicks.

Bring on the competition

The exterior of the body has been fitted with a lightweight carbon fiber widebody kit that comes with a full carbon diffuser and a rear diffuser. The massive wing outback is actually directly connected to the diffuser through the trunk and rear lights. The result of all these mods and hard work is a car that has a curb weight of just over 2,200 lbs. Not bad at all for a car that features plenty of homebrewed carbon.
