And now we get to see the fruits of that labor.

Long Wait

For most of us, our plans to mod our cars begin before we even buy them. And then once said car is in our garage, the mods begin immediately. On the other hand, we admire those who have the patience to wait a year or so, simply enjoying their cars as is. That certainly doesn't apply to S2KI member eCrS2k, however. But he did wait a full 12 years before sharing the decade-plus fruits of his labor with us here in the forums

Too Excited

The OP purchased his S2000 way back in 2006 at a used car lot. He was so excited about his purchase that he didn't even try to negotiate with the sales guy, nor did he spend much time looking it over. But looking back now, we're guessing he doesn't really regret it.

Springing to Action

One month after purchasing the car, the OP installed a set of Tein springs. Which didn't quite make the car low enough, so he cut off a coil. That lasted only until he could afford a set of Konis, however, a set that would last him the next five years.

Changes

During that time frame, the OP also experimented with a number of intakes and sway bars. He also purchased a set of BBS LM wheels and a Shine ASM front bumper. But the bumper soon got cracked following a mishap with a cliff. Thus, he switched to a stock piece with a CR lip afterward.

Track Addiction

To this point, the OP always wanted to hit the track but could never bring himself to actually do it. Until the day his buddy let him run his car back in 2011. The OP was instantly hooked, starting an addiction that would lead his build (and his bank account) in an entirely different direction.

Onslaught of Parts

Next thing you know, a slew of new parts were being installed. They included a new clutch, TR Motorsports C3 wheels, F+R pads (XP10 F XP8 R), ATE blue fluid, Dunlop Z2, fake F1spec bride-ish seats, and used Bilstein PSS9s. And for the next couple of years, that was good enough as he worked on becoming a better driver.

Run-In with the Wall

After a couple of years, he predictably began experimenting with different suspension setups once again. Followed by the addition of some brake cooling. Then headers, then a roll cage. At this point, the OP was tired of cleaning his neon green wheels, so he replaced them with some black ones. But soon afterward, an incident at turn 6 at Laguna Seca left him in need of some body work.

Make It White

At the time, the OP already owned two other white cars. So he decided, why not make it three? Thus his body repair also included a respray in Glacier White, a color that suits this S2000 rather well, we'd say.

New but Fake

While he was at it, the OP added a host of new (fake) body bits. They consisted of Spoon fenders, an Amuse bumper, ASM rear over-fenders and hood, side diffusers, and fresh OEM headlights. We don't blame him for not spending the money on the real stuff, especially given his past experiences.

And sure enough, he nearly had another disaster at the track when a right upper control arm snapped mid-turn. Soon afterward, the OP wisely purchased a new helmet. He and his S2000 have continued their journey ever since, enjoying lots of track days. And we're glad that he decided to (finally) share it all with us right here
