Super Variety

One of the best things about round 2 at Chuckwalla (and Vtec Club in general) was the diversity of machinery that showed up. You’re not going to see one make or model at these venues, but an eclectic mix of cars with modifications of all levels. This is evident by EG Civics pitted right next to younger brothers of the next generation. From mild to wild this scene has it all.

Tough Competition

Club racing can be very competitive and it seems this is the case judging by the summary of lap times. The fastest car of the day ran a 2:01.332 around the circuit with a current generation Type R (chassis designation FK8) which proves how capable the current generation of Civics have become. It’s also a time that most amateur drivers struggle to touch with cars like M3s and even 911s. Seriously quick.

Locals Only

Only local tracks are run which make the club realistic for the average So Cal enthusiast to participate in. By keeping things close and running only Autoclub, Willow Springs and Buttonwillow driver’s hone their skills as well as raising the competitive bar.

Good Class Structure

V-Tec Club allows for modifications that range from mild and fairly restricted all the way to completely uncorked. As a testament to the competitiveness mentioned earlier, the fastest time at Chuckwalla was set by a car that did not belong to the unlimited class. No matter how your car is modified it will be competitive somewhere.

How to Join

If you want to get out on track today and have fun with your car the club will be meeting on August 11th for a round of action at Streets of Willow. This venue is a great place for those new to the track or those looking to polish their skills due to it’s similarity to canyon roads.
